Bringing women together and empowering them is a transformative endeavour that transcends boundaries and creates lasting impact. When women unite, they form a powerful force for change, driving progress in various spheres of society.

Empowerment begins with providing women with the platform and resources they need to thrive. By fostering networks and creating spaces for collaboration, women can share their experiences, exchange knowledge, and support each other’s endeavours.

The recently held 34th LadiesFund Power Lunch, featuring Turkish Consul General Mr Cemal Sangu as the Chief Guest, brought together an impressive line-up of 50 inspiring women leaders and a few notable men. This vibrant networking event saw influential figures like Yasmeen Lari from the Heritage Foundation, Masarrat Misbah of Depilex Smileagain Foundation, Niilofur Farrukh, CEO of Karachi Biennale, and many more.

“We’re revolutionising power spaces and high-level networking by placing women front and center, ensuring their voices are heard and respected from the get-go,” said President Tara Uzra Dawood. “Our selective inclusion of male champions promotes gender inclusion, diversity, and women empowerment. With this thirty-fourth lunch, we’re expanding our pool of change agents across various sectors.”

“It was a privilege and honour to be the Chief Guest at such a gathering of remarkable women and dynamic men,” said Mr Cemal Sangu, Turkish Consul General in Karachi. “We have a long history of collaboration, including bringing top Turkish female speakers to Pakistan and sponsoring Pakistani girls to study in Turkey. We look forward to continuing and strengthening this close relationship.”

“These events are filled with substance. Connecting with a diverse group of exceptionally talented achievers has been a valuable learning experience for me,” said Nargis Rehman, Convener of Karachi Citizens’ Forum. “I’m very proud of Uzra Dawood for her positive impact in empowering women and providing them with a platform for expression and action. I wish her the best in all her ventures.”

Masarrat Misbah, Founder of Depilex Group, reflected on her long-term connection, “From my first event 10 years ago, it has always been a delight. It’s a very special networking platform.”

Saira Awan Malik, President of TCS, remarked, “It was refreshing to spend an afternoon with some of the most incredible women and a few men in our nation, discussing our work and how we can support each other and our country.”

The lunch was a success with interesting guests, delicious food, and beautiful settings, all with invigorating dialogue at the core.
