Us: What does success mean to you?
Abbas Ashraf: To me, success is when you are able to fulfil every wish of your parents and find yourself in a position to help people in need and to make them have a better life.
Us: What is something you learned early in your career which helped you become a better actor?
AA: I learned not to react in real life; keep your emotions saved for the reel life and it will make a significant impact on your scenes.
Us: What is the most challenging thing about this career?
AA: Struggle, struggle, and just struggle, as nobody will help you until you help yourself.
Us: Did you get any formal education for acting?
AA: No one can learn acting unless they do it practically. I learned it by doing practice of various characters.
Us: Who are some of your role models and what do you like about their work?
AA: Amir Khan is my real source of inspiration and I like the way he conceives and executes his characters.
Us: From all your roles so far, which role was the most meaningful to you, and why?
AA: In Sabaat, I was cast in a negative role, which was quite challenging. Most artists like to play the role of a hero and no one is willing to be a villain. But I accepted it to prove my artistic range and versatility.
Us: Do you believe good looks and connections are the only things that make a star?
AA: I have seen so many good-looking actors failing to carve a niche for themselves in the industry. So only acting skills guarantee your stay in the mainstream.
Us: How has social media changed things for you?
AA: I can easily get in touch with directors through it and people can easily see my portfolio there.
Us: How do you deal with self-doubt?
AA: I believe in staying positives and try my level best not to let negative thoughts derail me.

AA: Step out of your comfort zone, have faith, and struggle sincerely to attain your goals.
