Tall, debonair, poignant, and yet temperamental at times, upcoming model Hamza Gul flagged off his modelling career when he joined Citrus Talent and quickly made his onscreen debut with a television commercial for a multinational brand. Offers then started coming his way thick and fast, and in a short span of time, he has already endorsed several credible brands. He recently even made it to Dubai where his TVC for Lays was shot, which is the project that he rates as his most amazing work till date.
When on set, Hamza carefully observes each step in the process to ensure that the execution is perfect during the shoot, and this skill has already netted him plenty of commercials, that too in just a few months’ time.
Vigilant when it comes to health and fitness, Hamza includes gym and sports as a must part of his fitness regimen and credits his father with raising his awareness [about health].
Us: What does success mean to you?
Hamza Gul: Success is where my heart and mind are at peace, where I can live however I want to.
Us: What is something you learned early in your career which helped you become a better model?
HG: I’m still in the early stages of it, but what I’ve learnt is to be humble and respectful towards the work I get.
Us: What is the most challenging thing about this career?
HG: I would say knowing what’s right and what’s wrong and choosing the right way to carve my own niche.
Us: Who are some of your role models and what do you like about them?
HG: I would say, in terms of work ethic, it has to be my dad because he’s extremely hard working and dedicated.
Us: From all your roles so far, which role was the most meaningful to you, and why?
HG: The TVC of Lays that I did was very challenging because it pushed me to my limits and gave me a chance to prove my versatility.
Us: Do you believe good looks and connections are the only things that make a star?
HG: No, because it comes down to the talent and hard work of the individual.
Us: How has social media changed things for you?
HG: I’ve never been a social person but it’s important to have a presence once you are working in the field and it has turned out to be beneficial for me so far.
Us: How do you deal with self-doubt?
HG: I work on taking out the positives and see [where I was at] the start and realize I’ve come this far so I need to push even further.
Us: Please share three pieces of advice for aspiring models.
HG: Be patient, humble, and stay passionate.
