you & me
It was not long ago that young and versatile actor Shameen Khan entered the showbiz industry. Her talent was initially recognised by her uncle who is a painter himself. He encouraged her to take acting courses at NAPA to hone her acting skills and from there Shameen got her first break and was selected to perform in a stage play ‘Merchant of Venice’ directed by the legendry Zia Mohyeddin. Impressed with Shameen’s confidence and onstage presence, Azra Moyeddin (wife of Zia Mohyeddin) decided to take this talented girl to Sakina Samoo and she was selected for the serial ‘Gohr-e-Nayab’, directed by Sakina. That is how she made her smooth transition to television. She dedicates her success to writer Mehrunisa Mustaqeem, who has been her mentor when she really needed to streamline a career in the showbiz industry. Unlike other actresses, Shameen prefers quality over quantity and her hard work is surely paying off. Some of her serials include ‘Zindagi Tum Ho’, ‘Bahu Raniyaan’, ‘Rubaru’, ‘Muradan Mai’, ‘Tum Kaun Piya’ and many more. Besides acting, she has done various commercials like PTCL, HBL, Crescent Lawn, Vital Beauty Soap etc. In a very short span of time Shameen has carved a niche for herself and tries to choose roles which offer her margin to perform. She is very excited about her upcoming projects and is hopeful that serial ‘Dharkan’ will be a milestone in her career. Let’s take a look at her likes and dislikes....
My faith and strong belief in Almighty Allah
My work
My mother
To drive and listen to good music
Become the head of a university some day
When I am being misunderstood
Nothing
Losing my loved ones
I won’t mind being a doctor if a second chance comes my way
My childhood
I trust people easily
My ability to stay focused and calm in challenging situations
Love is all about caring unconditionally
When I come across people who are blessed with good hearts
I am being appreciated for my good work
When I have nothing exciting to do
‘Crazy Love’. It was a story of a girl falling in love with an actor
Angelina Jolie
Once I was doing a theatre play and I fumbled in front of seven hundred people. It was quite an embarrassment as I am a quick learner and I always rehearse my script very well but I don’t know what happened that day. But I somehow I managed to successfully bring myself back into the character
My message:
Be good!
