Lawn season is in full swing and we can already see the city cluttered with billboards for numerous designer lawns. Last time round we took a look at a few of the big brands that have existed for years, and of course their designs and quality are something we can all vouch for. However, the designers and brands that have recently entered the market also have some trendy and creative prints to offer that are worth a buy. Read on as You! takes a look at a few brands that you can add to your wardrobe.
Floral prints
A few of the recent brands that have managed to break out of the clutter is the lawn collection by Saira Rizwan. The designer entered the fashion industry in 2007 and since then has made waves with her trendy cuts and designs in the world of prêt and couture wear for women. This is why, the launch of her lawn collection left many delighted and eager to adorn the lovely prints.
The lawn collection, recently launched in Lahore, consists of 10 designs to choose from with lawn, silk, chiffon, and jacquard material. The best part about the brand is that they have a very rich and glamorous look and are perfectly suited for formal events. The assortment comprises a softer toned colour scheme including shades such as plum, green, brown, turquoise and warm shades of maroon. The collection is inspired by spring and complements the season with the usage of floral and geometrical patterns in the prints. Each design comes with the brand’s signature embroideries and has a variety that is bound to please everyone. Another different aspect of the brand is that they have featured Bollywood actress Amy Jackson in their shoot and the new face has definitely added more appeal to the lawn collection. Embroidered appeal
Fashion designer Zainab Chottani has also launched her second spring/summer 2016 Collection across Pakistan recently, and has been receiving positive reviews so far. The brand is locally and internationally recognized for its prêt, couture, and bridals and they have carried the same minimalist design philosophy into the lawn collection.
The lawn assortment this year features 10 designs in two colours each. The prints are available in premium quality jacquard and cotton lawn with pure silk and chiffon dupattas in each outfit, along with intricate embroidery and embellishments to complete the ensemble. All the outfits are a fusion of the oriental style and combine the eastern look with enchanting Japanese patterns. The best part of the attire, it has a range of colours that one can choose from according to their preference. There are vibrant shades as well as subtle ones.
Regarding her collection, Zainab Chottani commented, “Keeping the latest trends and our weather in mind, we have designed attire that women from all walks of life can wear on numerous occasions - be it casual, professional or social.”
The assortment was launched recently in an event organized by Walnut PR which was attended by socialites and personalities from the media and fashion fraternity. Some of the names present included Ayesha Omar, Aisha Khan, Sanam Jung, Sanam Baloch, Sarwat Gillani, Zhalay Sarhadi, Hasan Rizvi, Lal Majid, , Nazneen Tariq, designers Nomi Ansari, Wardha Saleem, Umer Sayeed, Mahin Hussain and models Iman Ali, Areeba Habib, Fia Khan, Omer Shahzad, Sadaf Kanwal.
The digital patterns
When Cross Stich was launched a few years back, all the youngsters considered the place their shopping haven. This is because the brand had a very youthful design philosophy and offered prints that were trendy and eye catching. Over time it added prints women of all ages could enjoy, all the designs having one thing in common; the vibrant colours. This time round the brand continues to carry forth its vibrant touch in the recently launched lawn collection.
Cross Stitch’s latest collection is available in 19 vivacious designs that are a beautiful melange of style and comfort. These are all digital prints on lawn, with pure chiffon dupattas and embroidered detailing on the sleeves, hemline, neckline and pants. All the ensembles also include additional printed facings that customers can play around with, while designing their outfits.
As far as design sensibility is concerned, it hasn’t been restricted to a single theme and has represented different moods. It will remind you of Chinoiserie fashion in one print, Victorian-era in another, and Sicilian Majolica in yet another. From monochrome to intricate floral regalia, each ensemble is unique in its own way.
The collection was recently launched in an event organized by Tehmina Khaled of Take II where many names from the fashion industry were present.
