Kahlil Gibran - On Love
Then said Almitra, Speak to us of Love.
And he raised his head and looked upon the people, and there fell a stillness upon them. And with a great voice he said:
When love beckons to you, follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.

The thunderstorm of my memories;
Wrecks me, kills me
While I quiver in my little quilt
Like the sails in the sea song
The demons around me
Laugh at me, possess me
And my loneliness attacks me like a bird of prey
But I fight, my tears being my only sword
Now look at me
I won my long-lost war
I changed from a shivering bird in the cold
To a black swan
A black swan, that dances in the rain without fear
Conquering the world with her braveness and power...

Saying those three words
Take every ounce of energy
How easy it seems to say
Yet the most difficult entree
To give yourself in whole
For someone who stays
Through the pauses and the pain
When you gasp for air and see
That someone is there
Not merely in words
In essence and in plain
So, it seems easy
To give it away
A part of you
That was hid away
Under layers upon layers
Of dark enclaves
A light shone through
I was able to say
You need to stay.

Black thoughts
flow
within streets of mind
like a dark, rowdy river
