Hi Ed,
I simply loved all the write-ups in the issue of 24 April. The cover story ‘Abbottabad Public School – it’s inimitable’ by Abdul Moiz Alizai was superb. I don’t think that students who don’t have the boarding school experience can actually understand life in a boarding school or college. My parents who live in Saudi Arabia sent me to Pakistan to do medicine, and I was so scared initially! But now I love my life in my hostel; the friendship and camaraderie, the sneaking out part, studying with friends … it’s indescribable. Moiz penned his love for his school beautifully. I also loved the interview of Zainab Shabbir by Tooba Ghani. Keep up the good work, Us!

Hello Editor,
‘Learning in lockdown’ by Muhammad Omar Iftikhar was a useful read. What he said is nothing novel, and we all know it at some level. However, to read makes it more doable. It’s just that we need to be reminded of stuff we know but don’t utilize till we are hit upon our heads. The interview of Zainab Shabbir was good too.

Dear Ed,
I simply loved the last episode of ‘Violet vipers’ by Saniyyah Eman; what a ride! I was dreading that she would kill either Yusuf or Jaleelah, but thank God she didn’t! We don’t always need a doze of reality, and want things to work out in the fictional realm for the good people. Good job, Sanniyah!

Hey Ed,
In this week’s issue (May 1), ‘Emotional bullying – an ignored aspect’ by Aleezeh Fatimah Hashmi, was a thoughtful read.

Reflection
Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas (R.A)
The Prophet (S.A.W) was the most generous amongst the people, and he used to be more so in the month of Ramadan when Gabriel visited him, and Gabriel used to meet him on every night of Ramadan till the end of the month. The Prophet (S.A.W) used to recite the Holy Qur’an to Gabriel, and when Gabriel met him, he used to be more generous than a fast wind (which causes rain and welfare).
