What does success mean to you?
To be in a profession that you absolutely love is what success means to me.
Something you learned early in your career which helped you become a better actor?
The process of learning never ends. Never think you’ve learned everything! There’s always something you can learn.
Did you get any formal training for this career? If not, then how did you learn the craft of acting?
No, I did not. I am so thankful to the directors I have worked with. Most of the learning took place under their guidance; they helped me like teachers.
Do you believe good looks and connections are the only things that make a star?
Not at all. This perception has been changed now by many talented actors in our industry. Talent and passion are the only things that can make you a star.
How has social media changed things for you?
Social media is such an amazing platform for interacting with your fans, but there is a bad side to it as well since it has given people the right to react in whatever ways they want to; it is so annoying to see people criticize others when they have absolutely no knowledge of what’s going on.
The funniest thing or gossip you have heard about yourself?
That I am Shabbir Jan’s daughter!
Reflecting on your career, what lesson have you learned?
Never trust anyone.
How do you deal with self-doubt?
I spend time with the people who love and support me. They really uplift my spirits.
Three pieces of advice for aspiring actors.
If you really want to become an actor, take it seriously. It’s not an easy job and you have to put in a lot of effort. And always believe in yourself.
