If you have a skill, you can also begin your startup. You can choose one task that you can complete and deliver online.....

TIPS 'N' TRICKS

The COVID-19 has halted the world. Who would have thought that all professionals across the world would be working from home? Students, too, are taking online classes. While life is continuing, it is difficult to adapt to this new lifestyle where isolation is necessary. It will be difficult to work in seclusion but we need to adjust to this change. The sooner we accept our limitations, the better will be our understanding of our circumstances. Despite the lockdown, our learning must continue. Perhaps this is the best time to learn skills and pursue a hobby. This will not only add productivity to the days we spend at home but it will keep us away from any thoughts of depression and anxiety. Here are some ways you can continue with your learning during the lockdown.

Write

Begin writing a diary or a journal. Write your thoughts that you cannot share with anyone. Let this process lighten your mind. Write down the feelings and emotions you are experiencing during this lockdown. You can also develop write-ups and send them for print and digital publications.

Freelance

You can pursue a freelance job during this lockdown. Identify a skill that you can use to earn money. Ask among your friends if they need to complete a task that requires this particular skill. You can also open an account on websites such as Upwork, Freelancer or Fiverr and start working for clients. This will give you a side income and you will remain productive, too.

Write an e-book or a book

If you ever had plans to write a book, this is the best time to begin. Begin by identifying the genre you want to write about. It could be fiction or non-fiction. Find a topic, do your research, create an outline, name the chapters, define each chapter and begin writing content for each. Set a word count you will be writing each day based on your convenience.

Skill development

Develop a skill by watching online videos. You can either strengthen a skill you already possess or learn a new one. You can learn how to cook meals or prepare fast snacks; you can learn writing, speaking, debating, painting, etc. You can also watch a tutorial on how to design software. The idea is to absorb as much content as you can. It will help you once you perform these skills.

Find a hobby

You should also consider following a hobby. You can begin painting or sketching. Find something to do that keeps you engaged and happy.

LIVE sessions on social media

You can hold LIVE sessions on Facebook and Instagram. You can have discussions with your social media friends on literature, arts, sports and topics of mutual interest. You can even go LIVE to conduct a book reading session or you can paint or sketch LIVE for your viewers. I advise you to refrain from discussing religion and politics.

Startup venture

If you have a skill, you can also begin your startup. You can choose one task that you can complete and deliver online. With the age of e-commerce and digital media in full swing, companies that have a digital presence and a click-and-mortar setup, will survive this lockdown and continue to flourish once the world reopens. You can design social media posts for small businesses or write content for digital media. There are many avenues for you to work in digital media. It requires you to identify your strengths and weakness, opportunities and threats.
