‘Around the world in Ramazan’ (21 March issue) was a very interesting read. Ramazan is observed—and even celebrated—in all Muslim countries, and reading about the different traditions of so many places was informative. However, I can’t help but feel that Ramazan’s colours are more vibrant in Pakistan than in any other country.
I didn’t want to read ‘The 9th ICC Champions Trophy’ by Muhammad Omar Iftikhar—too painful for a cricket lover like me, who has seen Team Green in much better shape! But I am a glutton for punishment and read it anyway. Omar did a good job and didn’t make it too painful to read. In Poets’ Corner, I liked ‘A tender relationship among us’, and appreciate Robert Frost’s ‘Acquainted with the night’ in ‘Poems forever’ section.

After two consecutive defeats, Pakistan made a strong comeback with a 9-wicket victory over New Zealand in the third T20I on Friday. The entire team deserves praise, especially the batting unit for chasing 205 with ease. Hasan Nawaz was the star, scoring a blistering 105 off 45 balls with 10 fours and seven sixes at a strike rate of 233.33. Mohammad Haris provided an explosive start with 41 off 20 balls, while captain Salman Agha contributed an unbeaten 51 off 31 balls.
This victory not only revived Pakistan’s chances in the series but also set records. Pakistan recorded their highest-ever powerplay total in T20Is, amassing 75-1 in six overs. Nawaz also became the fastest Pakistani to score a T20I century, reaching the milestone in just 44 balls, breaking Babar Azam’s record. As a proud fan, I congratulate the team on this outstanding performance.
