- Born on 10 January 1980 in Texas, U.S.
- Is of Iranian heritage; father is Iranian and mother is Spanish-Iranian.
- Has an older brother, Cyrus, and a younger sister, Samantha.
- Adopted the name Sarah as a child after being tormented by other kids about her birth name, Aahoo (Persian for “gazelle”).
- Competed in beauty pageants as a child.
- Studied karate in her youth.
- Appeared in supporting and guest roles in several television shows before landing her first lead role in the crime drama Life (2007 – 2009).
- Has since appeared in series including Fairly Legal (2011 – 2012), Person of Interest (2012 – 2016), Reverie (2018), and The Rookie (2018 – 2019), as well as films like Road to Paloma (2014), Hangman (2017), and Black Adam (2022).
- Was married to actor Steve Howey from 2009 till their divorce in 2021. They have three children together.
