Adverse impact of gaming

Dear Editor,

I am writing to express my deep concern about the alarming impact of PUBG on the youth of Pakistan. This online game has become a global phenomenon, captivating millions of users worldwide, including a significant number of students in Pakistan. While PUBG may seem like a harmless form of entertainment, it poses a range of dangers that threaten the mental health and social values of our young generation.

Excessive gaming has been linked to various negative effects, including addiction, aggression, anxiety, and social isolation. Students who spend an inordinate amount of time playing PUBG neglect their studies and other important aspects of their lives.

Therefore, I respectfully request the Government of Pakistan to take immediate action to address this issue by implementing measures to regulate the use of PUBG and other online games, particularly among students. This can include restricting access to PUBG during school hours, implementing age restrictions on gaming platforms, launching awareness campaigns, and providing counselling services and support for students struggling with gaming addiction.

I believe that it is our collective responsibility to ensure the well-being and safety of our youth. The future of Pakistan depends on the health, happiness, and productivity of its youth, and it is our duty to protect and nurture them.
