An important issue: child labour in Pakistan
Dear Ed,
Child labour has reached critical levels in Pakistan, trapping countless children in a cycle of exploitation, poverty, and hopelessness. This grave issue forces young, innocent lives into grueling labour, exposing them to hazardous work conditions and depriving them of education, health, and a brighter future.
The prevalence of child labour highlights a profound governance challenge. Persistent inaction, inadequate policies, widespread poverty, unemployment, and limited access to quality education perpetuate this crisis. Children, instead of learning and growing, are caught in a trap that stunts their intellectual and emotional development.
Pakistan cannot afford to ignore this alarming reality any longer. Protecting children from labour exploitation is not just a legal obligation but a moral one. Urgent and decisive action is essential to break this vicious cycle, ensuring every child has access to education and a safe, nurturing environment. The future of Pakistan depends on the welfare of its youngest citizens, and the time for change is now.

Dear Editor.
In the issue of 18 October, I read with great interest and appreciation the interview of Asif Nawaz. I’ve always admired his write-ups, and it’s no surprise that he’s now a published novelist. It’s inspiring to see an Us writer achieve such success.

Dear Editor,
As a longtime reader of Us, I’ve come to expect quality stories in the magazine. However, it’s been a while since I’ve come across a truly captivating story. I especially miss the serialized stories that left me eagerly awaiting the next issue. Could you consider holding a story-writing competition? It would be a fantastic platform for young, talented writers to showcase their immense potential.

Hey Ed,
I’m a big fan of poetry, and I’m constantly impressed by the quality of poems published in Us magazine’s ‘Poets’ Corner.’ I especially enjoy the work of the established poets like Amna Ameer and Ali Asghar Ghani, and I think Abid Agha’s poems are an exciting addition among the newer poets. Please convey my appreciation to these talented poets. Also, Ed, I miss the ‘On Campus’ issues; I think they should make a comeback!
