POETS’ CORNER
By Robert Frost
Nature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold Her early leaf's a flower. But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down today. Nothing gold can stay.

And then, you push everyone away,
I'm so numb to your pain.
To help you through this,
I know there are sorrows,
And stories of disgrace,
That no one can truly understand.
So, let me be numb once again,
To help you forget and pretend.
I heard you,
Every word you said,
Yes, to all of them-
The loud and the silent.
I know you need a friend,
But no one can truly understand.
And still, you shut everyone out,
Never letting them see inside your mind.
All they perceive is black and white.
Don't let the streaming tears dry-
Feel alive, even if only sometimes.
Just be brave enough,
And I can be your lullaby.

It may be easy for you
To abandon tenderness, the essence
Of all the relationships we've nurtured over time.
It may be easy for you
To close every door
That leads to harmony's embrace,
And to turn away from the desire to share our pain
It may be easy for you
To cut the strings of all my hopeful kites,
Once soaring proudly in the sky,
Just to amuse yourself,
Cherishing the sight of my stray kite
Now spiraling towards the ground.
But it's not easy for me to let my kite drift away.
I'll hold its strings firm,
Mend them with renewed strength,
And let it soar even higher.
For though it's not easy for me,
I'll find my serenity, flying free.

Of time, grant a brief reprieve,
Let's soften the memories,
Ignore the pains,
Confess the sins,
Surrender the mistakes.
Let's atone for others' tears,
Remember the lost,
Heal the wounds,
Halt the flow of tears.
O time, let's find peace in all of this.
