Dear Editor,

I was pleased to see two cover stories back-to-back in observance of our Independence Day (9 and 16 August). However, I was a bit disappointed with the paper quality of the magazine, which made the old pictures look grainy and dull. I understand that photos from 1947 may not have been of the best quality, but with better paper, they could have appeared much clearer. It’s important for young people to appreciate the gift of independence, and consistently publishing features and articles on the lives of those who made Pakistan a reality is vital. Your efforts in this regard are crucial, as Us is a magazine for the youth. Keep up the good work!

Dear Ed,

The exceptional career of James ‘Jimmy’ Anderson by Muhammad Omar Iftikhar was a fine tribute to this amazing cricketer in the issue of 16 August. In the same issue, I enjoyed City Lights by Ahmad Hassan Nadeem, as it was about my beautiful city, although I no longer live there. Ed, Arshad Nadeem has made our country proud. Because of him, we ranked ahead of India in the Olympics. I’m sure Us readers would love to read his interview. Please ask your sports writers to interview him.

 Hello Editor,

In the issue of 23 August, I read the cover story Downsizing your wardrobe with great interest. Whenever I go shopping, I see girls buying clothes left, right, and center. Clothes are very expensive, especially the branded ones. So, if women give away their old clothes, it will be a blessing for those who cannot afford to buy good clothes, and it will help keep their wardrobes clutter-free. I see my sisters shopping all the time, and they justify buying new clothes by saying they can’t repeat outfits because everyone has seen them. The good thing is they give away their good clothes to poorer relatives. However, decluttering should not be limited to girls' wardrobes—boys should do it as well. Additionally, decluttering should not be restricted to clothes but should include all items we don’t use.
