TRAVELOGUE
Abu Dhabi is a fascinating travel destination. The capital of United Arab Emirates, it engulfs rich cultural, architectural, and natural beauties.
Here are some of the spots that are worth visiting in Abu Dhabi:
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: It is probably one of the best masterpieces of Islamic architectures around the globe. Use of purest form of white marble and sophisticated Islamic historical design make it look so peaceful and spiritual. Plan to visit the mosque in the evening to experience the noon, evening, and night scenic views.
Emirates Palace: Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental is a five-star hotel and is well-known for its opulence, high end amenities, giant structure, and beautiful gardens. Even if you do not plan to stay here, you may explore it and witness its exquisiteness.
Qasr Al Watan (Presidential Palace): If you are interested in exploring splendid architecture and gardens and learning about the country’s governance and history, Qasr Al Watan – the presidential palace – is open for you. That’s an interesting tourist spot if you are an enthusiast traveller like me.
Louvre Abu Dhabi: A collaboration between the UAE and France, Louvre Abu Dhabi, an art and civilization museum, offers unique architecture and a diverse collection of art from different cultures and historical periods that make it a must visit cultural hotspot for history lovers precisely; otherwise, you would get bored.
Al Ain Oasis: About an hour’s drive from Abu Dhabi, the Al Ain Oasis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the city of Al Ain. It’s a vast oasis with thousands of date palms, traditional falaj irrigation systems, and a serene atmosphere.
Corniche Beach: I just loved it. It is a picturesque waterfront with a clean, well-maintained beach. I thoroughly enjoyed the early morning leisurely stroll and cycling here. It was just in front of my friend’s place where I spent most of my time in Abu Dhabi.
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi: This premier leisure and fun-filled destination is the house of the world’s first Ferrari-themed amusement park. For thrill seekers, it dares you to experience the world’s fastest roller coaster, Formula Rossa, as well as various attractions and exhibits celebrating the iconic Italian car brand.
CLYMB Abu Dhabi: If you are an adventure enthusiast, you must experience CLYMB, an indoor adventure hub featuring the world’s largest indoor skydiving flight chamber and the world’s tallest indoor climbing wall.
Seawings Seaplane Tours: This seaplane tour provides you an exhilarating and breathtaking aerial view of the island and the surrounding area. A must go place for you enthusiasts!
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi: It is an indoor theme park that brings you iconic characters from Warner Bros.’ extensive entertainment portfolio, including Batman, Superman, and Looney Tunes. It features immersive rides, attractions, and live entertainment.
Yas Island: In my opinion, this is a must visit place for families and thrill seekers. From entertainment to theme parks and sports activities, Yas Island is ready to offer you a bunch of thrilling activities.
Yas Water World: With over forty rides and slides, Yas Water World serves its visitors a wide range of water-based activities for all ages, including the world’s first hydro-magnetic tornado water slide.
Yas Beach: A tranquil beach on Yas Island, Yas Beach offers a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life under the sun and among the sand and water-filled beachside activities.
Yas Marina Circuit: It is yet another state-of-the-art motorsport venue here on Yas Island. Visitors can take guided tours of the circuit, drive experiences, and even participate in track days.
Yas Links Abu Dhabi: It is an award-winning golf course that provides amazing views of the Arabian Gulf. Golf enthusiasts can relish an interesting round of golf in a beautiful coastal setting.
Yas Shopping Mall: Offering a diverse range of retail outlets and restaurants, Yas shopping mall is a great place for shopping, and fun filled activities.
Yas Island is a mini city in itself. You may spend days exploring and discovering and relishing fun-filled activities here.
One thing I profoundly observed and liked about Abu Dhabi is that life here is a bit serene and calm as compared to that in Dubai. I mean, beaches away from worldly tensions, you would love sitting for hours in the coastal line of any beach (Corniche, in my case) here and love seeing people strolling around with their children and kids playing water sports merrily.
