INTROSPECTION
Answers can often be found in the questions our conscience asks: who am I? The wind blows and gives all the fallen leaves a push. The leaves remain afloat in the air, for a second or two, and then fall to the ground a few centimeters afar. I am no longer a teenager, and have stepped into the so-called world of practicality. I stay afloat in the air of uniqueness - of how fast times and trends pass us by - and then I fall down to the ground of reality. Life really has a way to amaze us at all times.
If I ask you to picture what I am about to describe, you will see my point. Sometimes, you start reading a book. You read the first chapter and you turn one page after the other, but you have a feeling you didn’t retain anything. You decide to read it all over again but now it seems boring and bland even though you didn’t have enough focus the first time you read it. The book has still lost its charm, somehow. You decide to move forward and read the next chapter, regardless. You have a firm faith in everything falling in its place and every event connecting with the other, giving sense to all the words, and leaving nothing meaningless. And it really does connect. You move on, you have to. This thing called life works in the same way. No matter how hard you try to dwell in the past, it pushes you forward and you land in the present, already worrying about the future.
The difficulty to live in the present becomes humongous at times. For that, we develop coping mechanisms and we all know coping takes a unique form and shape for each individual. But, surely, in the law of the land, everything is going to pass. A new day arrives and humans keep on waddling their way through this maze of life, one day at a time. A new life, with each sunrise.
Have you asked yourself how you will live a new life, if you are granted one? We often think life is bestowed upon us only once. Not true. Every single day that we get to spend on this planet is another chance at life. Another way to fashion our life according to our taste. To be able to wake up, and the privilege to think about what to do and what not to do as you go about the day, shapes us into who we really are. A day at school, university or work or even spending time with family or friends can be planned, as we carefully place our behavior and motives into the mould of time.
Today, we are all living in Generation Z’s world. A new era has begun. Events moving at the speed of light don’t even let us catch a breath. The TikTok and Instagram generation lives from one reel to the other post and here we are, defining our lives in every moment we get to grab. The renaissance has never been this great and the opportunities, this abundant. This new world is here to stay and you and I can slowly but surely, shape ourselves into who and what we want to see when we look in the mirror or up in the skies.
