A serious issue
Dear Editor,
According to a UNICEF report, due to the devastation created by the recent floods, more than 27,000 schools have been damaged across the country, and are inaccessible to more than 2 million children in the affected areas. In order to make the schools functional again, the government needs to get international support. Another disappointing fact is that even when children attend school, their needs are not met, as ghost schools and ghost teachers still exist in the country. Corruption cannot only be blamed on teachers; the officials who are supposed to make regular visits to school are responsible, too.

Dear Ed,
In this week’s issue, the cover story (Jinnah – the man) by Shaza Khalid intrigued me as it was about the personal life of Quaid-e-Azam. And, to answer the writer, we still have to learn the 14 points! In the ‘Poets’ Corner’, I enjoyed Lilting lights by Ayesha Malik.

Hi Ed,
I have noticed the interesting changes recently made to the letters, Bits ‘n’ Pieces and Trust Us sections. Good job, Team Us! In the issue of June 2, The fault in our numbers by SZ was an informative read, but I believe population problem issue is not being addressed by our government.
Ed, so far there hasn’t been any summer reading or summer movies stories. I would also appreciate information about internships avaiable to university students during summer months.
