The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

POTPOURRI

‘Tis might not be the season to be jolly but we’ll take any reason to rewatch The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and we certainly have one right now: the final film in the GotG trilogy comes out today, so before you experience what just might be Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and co.’s final adventure together, you might want to give this delightful special a quick revisit.

The yuletide episode finds Drax (Dave Bautista) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff) looking for a present for Peter and deciding that they will give him Kevin Bacon for Christmas because why not.

Silly, funny, warm, the special will quickly remind you just why you love this motley crew of characters so much and how wonderful it’s been to have James Gunn sprinkle some of his brand of wit into the increasingly bland Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now

POTPOURRI

As he prepares to release his second album, Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent (which comes out this month), Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi looks back at his musical journey and the effect it has had on his mental health in the Netflix documentary How I’m Feeling Now, an intimate look at the impact and pressures of fame.

The film briefly touches on the singer’s childhood and charts his to meteoric ascent to fame with songs from his debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent (2019). But with the success comes the pressure to continue making hits and anxiety that manifests itself in the form of tics (eventually diagnosed as Tourette’s syndrome).

Through it all, Lewis’s wit remains intact, and his honesty, openness, and self-awareness make How I’m Feeling Now a touching, engaging watch.

POTPOURRI

The Lost Media Wiki is a community passion project dedicated to tracking down lost or hard-to-find media. The website allows users to detail and attempt to track down pieces of media that don’t seem to be available elsewhere.

Whether you’re looking for animation, audio, comics, films, literature, music, television, video games, or something else altogether, this community effort just might be your best bet to locate what you have in mind. Any content, be it fictional or non-fictional in nature, that is completely lost or simply inaccessible to the general public belongs here.

From the 1966 animated adaptation of The Hobbit (found) to a promotional Breaking Bad interactive game (search ongoing) and beyond, there’s a lot that connoisseurs of obscure media can both discover and contribute on LMW.
