Everything Everywhere All at Once
It’s been such a joy to see the wonderfully zany Everything Everywhere All at Once dominate the award season, culminating in a glorious showing at the recently held Academy Awards. And we can only thank the multiverse for finally letting a truly inventive project triumph over the more traditionally Oscar-bait-y movies this year!
Centred on the character of a universe-hopping Chinese-American immigrant named Evelyn (Michelle Yeoh) who must stop a powerful being from destroying the multiverse, EEAAO is, at its heart, the story of family, love, and acceptance, delivered in an offbeat, entertaining style that makes it an absolute delight to watch.
If you haven’t experienced its magic yet, then you might want to give it a try and see why it has struck such a chord with both critics and viewers. And if you’ve already seen it, you can always watch it again. It’s totally worth a revisit!
Nature: A Seasonal Colouring Book by Flora Waycott
If you enjoy adult colouring books but the very intricate patterns end up adding to your stress instead of relieving it, then you should check out Nature, a book by Flora Waycott that features illustrations that are beautiful but not very complex.
The focus is on plants and animals – flowers, fruits, birds, bugs, critters – and you can add as much or as little detail to the artwork as you colour it in. The paper is nice and thick (but some markers still seep through, so do check before committing to a medium) and a pleasant white.
If you like nature-inspired designs – the florals and birds are especially lovely – and want images that aren’t too intricate, then this book could be a nice addition to your adult colouring collection.
