US TALK
What does success mean to you?
Success, for me, is the contentment of heart and soul that one attains after successfully achieving his targets.
Something you learned early in your career which helped you become a better actor?
I learnt that passion is the main key to success and money becomes a secondary thing.
What is the most challenging thing about this career?
Making viewers feel and believe what you are portraying is real.
Did you get any formal education for this career? If not, then how did you learn the craft of acting?
Acting is a talent that comes naturally. Institutions may contribute to hone one’s endowed skills on technical lines.
Who are some of your role model actors/actresses, and what do you like about their work?
Shahrukh Khan! I love the way he delivers his dialogues in Pushto accent as its similar to how we speak in my area.
From all your projects so far, which project was the most meaningful to you, and why?
My first shoot, as I was a novice at that time, and photographer Khawar Riaz was right in front of me!
Do you believe good looks and connections are the only things that make a star?
I believe that good looks do matter and connections help you make a quick entry into the game, but in the absence of both, it is your talent that nobody can ignore and defy.
How has social media changed things for you?
Social media has dramatically changed things for actors. Those who aren’t on social media are missing out on huge opportunities. From cultivating a good fan base to making connections with your peers and industry figures, social media can take one’s career to the next level.
How do you deal with self-doubt?
I don’t plunge into self-doubts and I don’t really relate to it.
Three pieces of advice for aspiring actors.
Believe in yourself; have faith, and stay calm.
