Allowing himself comic relief on the sets, Ahsan Khan is all set to appear in a comedy film titled Chupan Chupai (Hide and Seek). Taking a break from serious scripts like Tumhare Siwa and Preet Na Kariyo Koi, Khan is choosing to experiment by essaying a role that is unlike any role he has portrayed previously.
“When I read the script, I found it very funny. It is a fast-paced film with a lot of things happening simultaneously,” Ahsan told Instep in a telephonic conversation. “It is a situational comedy where we get into a chaotic situation and figure out how to get out it,” revealed Khan.
Discussing his role in the film, Ahsan noted, “I am playing the role of a guy who tries to look like a cool dude and thinks he can do a lot of things. Basically he thinks of himself as an all-rounder but in reality, he isn’t one.”
The film also features, in an important role, Pakistani TV actress and model Neelam Muneer, who is also starring in upcoming drama serial Judai.
Spilling the beans on his equation with Muneer in this upcoming comedy, Ahsan remarked, “In a way, Neelam is my love interest in the film but it is not a typical love affair. It is very different and I am sure nobody has ever seen such an affair on screen in Pakistan.”
Directed by Mohsin Ali, Chupan Chupai also stars veteran actors Talat Hussain and Sakina Samo (who will share the screen in a feature film for the first time), Rehan Sheikh (who is essaying the role of Khan’s elder brother), Adnan Jaffer (Jailabee fame) and new age cinema’s very own mascot, Javed Sheikh (who will appear in a special cameo).
According to Ahsan, this fun-filled film boasts of good performances from its ensemble cast and will also showcase young thespians from the world of local theatre.
