His debut film Jalaibee may have been a box office disaster and his second one (Wrong No.) bashed by the critics, despite doing great business, but there is no stopping Danish Taimoor. The young actor is all set to star in another Pakistani project tentatively titled Miss You Hamesha.

Danish confirmed the news on Instagram sharing a picture from the script-reading sessions of the film along with writer Sooraj Baba and director Sangeeta. The actor has been roped in to play the male lead, whereas newbie Qurat-ul-Ain will be seen playing his love interest. According to web reports, the film is also rumoured to star veteran actor Nadeem Baig and actress Zeba Bakhtiar. While not much has been revealed of the storyline and the supporting cast, the title does suggest that this one may revolve around the more romantic side of things. When contacted, Danish was unavailable to reveal further details related to the film.

So far the actor has received a mixed response for his acting skills with critics writing him off for his exaggerated portrayals but one wonders if third time will be a charm. Miss You Hamesha is expected to go on floors after Eidul Azha, on September 29.

Pakistani play Kaun Hai Yeh Gustakh

finally staged in New Delhi

After being cancelled two years ago by India’s National School of Drama owing to border tensions between the two nations, Ajoka theatre group’s famous play on the controversial Urdu writer Saadat Hasan Manto, Kaun Hai Yeh Gustakh, was finally staged in New Delhi on Wednesday night.

Much like the recent biopic, the play focuses on Manto’s life and works after partition and has been staged as part of the ongoing four-day ‘Humsaya’ Pakistani theatre festival organized by Ajoka in association with the NGO Routes2Roots. Director Shahid Nadeem shared his excitement in an interview with IANS.

“The whole episode was emotional last time though Akshara theatre gave us a chance to stage the play after it got cancelled. We are happy that it was staged in a bigger auditorium this time,” he said adding that India is no different from Pakistan when it comes to religious extremism. “India is fast catching up with Pakistan in religious terrorism. The way anti-Pakistani sentiments are aroused by media here, a section of people also make our work difficult in Pakistan. We are trying to separate people’s position from government’s position. It’s the duty secular forces to fight against the evil. I hope it’s a temporary phenomenon.”

The festival will showcase four plays that aim at rediscovering forgotten heroes Dara Shikoh, Manto and Sufi poet Bulle Shah. “All the four plays convey message of peace and harmony. I hope it will help to soothe the climate of distrust and animosity in the sub-continent. Cultural exchanges can bypass prejudices without engaging in political debates,” he added.

“Bigg Boss 9 is mine.” – Salman Khan

As host of Bigg Boss, the most controversial reality show in India, Salman Khan charmed millions of fans around the world, including Pakistan, where the show has amassed quite a fan following. The super popular Salman Khan hosted the last season but stepped down from the extended edition, and was replaced by Farah Khan, leaving one wonder if he’d ever return.

However, putting all speculations to rest, the actor is returning as host and took to twitter to announce his arrival. Salman tweeted just recently: “Bigg Boss 9 is mine.” Reports suggest that Salman’s comeback has to do with a pay hike. According to ABP News Bureau, the actor is returning to Bigg Boss because the makers have agreed to pay him double the amount.

As for contestants, they are usually a mix of semi-famous celebrities in one field or another who stay inside the big boss house for several months and are monitored by multiple cameras. This year’s list of contestants is, like recent times, a mixed bag.

Gutti from Comedy Nights with Kapil is joining the show as a contestant alongside Sunil Grover, a radio jockey, model and actor Arshi Khan, TV actress Mahi Vij and Roopal Tyagi, actor Armaan Jain who is also Kareena and Ranbir Kapoor’s cousin and was last seen in the box office fail Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, Mohit Malhotra from MTV Spitsvilla 2, actor Mayur Verma and Nakshatra Bagwe, who has made a series of films on gay and LGBT rights.

Salman Khan has already begun shooting for the forthcoming season of Bigg Boss, and seems to be having a phenomenal year. As for his own film projects, after the enormous success of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman’s next is Prem Ratan Dhan Payo which will also feature Sonam Kapoor as his leading lady, years after their last disastrous run together, the inexplicable Saawariya.
