Have you ever wondered why Fawad Khan has long queues of women fighting over to catch a glimpse of him at an event? Or why Ali Zafar’s charming smile can melt the toughest of hearts including those of Bollywood divas? Or better yet why Waheed Murad had our mums ignoring their husbands whenever he was on screen? As much as it has to do with their innate looks and personal sense of style, it seems the credit also goes to them simply being Pakistanis. Pakistani men are genetically sexy and the world has given its verdict.
According to a destination dating website Miss Travel, which pairs lone travellers with attractive companions, Pakistani men are ‘Third Sexiest Men in the World’. The website conducted a poll on what people think to be the sexiest nationalities and 110,000 of their American customers voted awarding Pakistanis the third position.
Surprisingly, their Indian counterparts, despite having a film industry oozing with rugged glamour and chiseled bods, have no mention in the top ten list. Ouch! No wonder Fawad took the third spot in Time’s list of the Most Desirable Men in Bollywood after just one single appearance. Both Ali and Fawad were also part of Eastern Eye’s top ten list of sexiest Asians in the world.
Taking the lead, however, are the ever-so-sexy lot of Irish men (read: Collin Farrel, Pierce Brosnan and Gerard Butler) followed by Australians as the runner-ups. While Pakistani men can now bloat in all the glory, Pakistani women have a sad truth to face as they don’t make it to the top ten list. Winners of the women’s list remain the queens of all the world’s make-up – the Lebanese. Word of advice to the women here: put a handle on them before these men elope through Miss Travel’s free trip.
