Nawazuddin Siddiqui to play Pakistani
politician in Bajrangi Bhaijaan
We saw Salman Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui face off in Kick, and now the duo reprise their roles as each other’s enemies in Kabir Khan’s upcoming romantic drama, Bajrangi Bhaijaan. While Salman Khan is playing the titular role of a man who helps a lost little girl return home after she accidentally crosses the Pak-India border, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is said to play a cunning Pakistani politician. A source claims that Siddiqui’s character won’t be completely negative, but will have shades of grey.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan was previously thought to be a film that propagates the so-called love jihad movement – that is, young Hindu women are being brainwashed into marrying Muslim men through films that show the inter-faith romances – but the recently revealed plot details prove otherwise.
Kareena Kapoor Khan is also said to play a role in the film, although her appearance will be brief. According to reports, her total screen time is not more than 30 minutes.
Apart from Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Nawaz will also be seen in Haramkhor, in which he will play a school teacher.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan is slated for a mid-July 2015 release.
50 Cent to sign Zayn Malik for his record label
It seems 50 Cent has his eyes fixated on pop sensation Zayn Malik, of One Direction, for the rapper has recently expressed his desire to sign him to record for his label. The 39-year old Candy Shop hit maker has not only showed interest to invite Malik, 22, to his league but has also stated that he will be willing to launch Bradford lad’s solo career if he wishes to do so. However, it’s important that Zayn makes the right decision to ‘work with some of the biggest rappers on planet’.
“If Zayn wants a rap career, just because of who he is, he is going to sell records. But if he wants to be credible he has to be with the right people,” 50 Cent told The Sun. “I’d happily sign him up to my label, mentor him and have him working with the biggest rappers on the planet.”
There have been rumours circulating around social media that Zayn is ‘planning’ to quit One Direction to pursue a solo career but no official statements have been made yet.
Born in West Yorkshire, Northern England, Zayn is one of the five members of acclaimed Irish/British pop boy-band, One Direction. Debuting in 2010, the band has released four studio albums since then and is widely regarded as one of the highest selling boy band in the history of popular music. Their third studio album Midnight Memories was the highest selling album worldwide of 2013, selling over 4 million copies worldwide.
