Earlier this year, writer and producer Asma Nabeel announced she would be venturing into films with two upcoming projects.

One of them, titled Khoobsurat, is in pre-production and tackles the subject of body shaming. The second is called Fly and will highlight the issue of breast cancer. Being a breast cancer survivor herself, Asma aims to raise awareness around the subject that is not talked about as much as it should be.

A crowd-funding event was recently held in this regard, with prominent women from the country in attendance, all of whom will be supporting the cause. Post the event, Asma announced that the film will have Hajra Yamin and Wahaj Ali as the lead pair while Beo Zafar (Cake) will also play an important role. Hajra was also present at the event that took place at a coffee house in Karachi.

“A long journey for a cause that’s very close to my heart. My penned film Fly on the cause of breast cancer and I am so glad to announce Hajra Yamin, Wahaj Ali, Beo Raana Zafar joining this heart touching story,” the writer-producer announced yesterday.

The film will be directed by Misbah Khalid.
