Helmed by ace producer Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan, better known as Xulfi, with a prominent role played by Shehreyar ‘Sherry’ Khattak (Karakoram) who joined the series in its third season, it looks like the fifth season of Nescafe Basement might be where the story ends.

The last season scored several hits in the cover of Haroon’s ‘Mehbooba’, a version of ‘Aadat’ by Goher Mumtaz, ‘Gharoli-Ghoom Charakhra’ as well as Abdullah Siddiqui’s brilliant original, ‘Resistance’.

Sherry hopes to give time to his own band, the neo-prog-rock Karakoram, that came to fame two years ago with a song called ‘Toofan’. But ahead of playing session with artists such as Meesha Shafi and Farhan Saeed, Sherry and the rest of the band is a lot more focused on Karakoram now.

However, as Sherry noted in an interview with Instep, “It’s not happening this year.”He continued, “Obviously I have multiple roles in Nescafe; I do guitars, I’m in the production process as well with Xulfi so should it happen, I definitely hope I am a part of it.”
