Singer-songwriter Natasha Baig impressed one and all when she went toe-to-toe with Fareed Ayaz and Abu Mohammad Qawwal during season 11 of Coke Studio on the song, ‘Shikwa/Jawab-e-Shikwa’. It was a breathtaking, jaw-dropping performance and one that Fareed Ayaz sahib confirmed.
Baig’s other follow-up to the song, ‘Dil Lagee’ as part of Paanch Mixtape - Volume 1, is just as arresting. To make things much more interesting and surprising, Baig has released a brand new album called Zariya, released by Laal Series.
Unlike the usual trend of singles (attached with music videos), Zariya is not backed by multiple music videos. Instead the whole album, consisting of 10 tracks, is available on multiple digital platforms.
Natasha Baig dropped the full length album after an invite-only listening session comprising industry experts.
With songs like ‘Aaj Rung Hai’, ‘Ya Ali Mushkil’, and ‘Ya Ali’, the album might have Sufi ethos but if an artist can pull it off, it is Natasha Baig.
Baig also has other releases you can find on her YouTube page such as ‘Maine Dekha Hai’, ‘Ho Mian’ and ‘Deewana Banaya’, among other past releases.
