2020 is looking like a strong year for Khumariyaan, the hybrid-folk music group from Islamabad and Peshawar. Featuring Sparlay Rawail, Shiraz Khan, Aamer Shafiq and Farhan Bogra, the band has been touring while also working on its debut album, currently in the pipeline.

Working their way across the world, Khumariyaan began in one continent and will end in another. They played two shows in Kenya, Africa, before embarking on a United Kingdom tour.

As Sparlay Rawail from the band told Instep, the performance in Kenya included a government show where they were representing Pakistan. “There was this big trade conference,” said Sparlay of the band’s Kenya trip. “We were the act at the end of it!”

The second show in Kenya was more relaxed. “It was at a very famous bar/music spot,” Sparlay added.

Khumariyaan, according to Sparlay Rawail, is now all set to begin its United Kingdom tour that is scheduled for the 14th and 15th of February and will be held in Manchester and Birmingham.

This will not be their first tour of the UK; the band has previously performed in London and Ireland. Their debut album is tentatively scheduled to release sometime year.
