Lahore Music Meet (#LMM5) in its fifth year, is going full speed ahead. After revealing the indoor and outdoor showcase artists, they have released more information.
Apart from the performances, #LMM5 will, according to a recent press statement, feature masterclasses by Haniya Aslam, Zeeshan Parwez and ProperGaanda.
Among panel discussions, #LMM5 will feature Azeem Hamid, Mekaal Hasan, Mehreen Rana, Talha Humayun, Sehyr Mirza, Talha Ali Kushvaha, Dr. Fozia Saeed, Shoaib Iqbal, Fouzia-Younis Suleman and Sophiya Anjam.
Attendees will also get to hear from LMM founders Natasha Noorani and Zahra Paracha and Chairman IPO Mujeeb Ahmed Khan. Storytelling sessions and presentation are also on the cards. Artists who will be present at the event include the iconic Hadiqa Kiani, bilingual rapper and actor Faris Shafi (in conversation with Ahmer Naqvi). Screenings will include Indus Blues by Jawad Sharif and Zeejah Fazli and Shehr e Tabassum by Shehri Pakistan, among others.
“Khayal Gayaki - a performance by Sur Mandal and Tehzeeb Foundation, and special sessions presented by Pepsi featuring Daastangoi with Auj and Aarish, and an album launch for Bayaan’s Suno,” noted the press statement, will take place as well. While entrance will be free, NIC or student ID will be expected as you head to Alhamra Art Center in Lahore on February 1st and 2nd, 2020.
Co-founded by Zahra Paracha and Natasha Noorani, both of whom are Festival Directors along with Sana Nasir attached as Art Director and Munizeh Sanai as Creative Director, the all-women led festival has hosted one-on-one sessions with the likes of Ali Azmat, Meesha Shafi in the past as well as indoor showcase performances by the likes of Takatak, Sikandar Ka Mandar, Fareed Ayaz and Abu Mohammed qawwals to name just a few.
