Announcing its return for a fifth year, Lahore Music Meet, a music symposium where matters most important to music are discussed along with performances (#LMM5) is scheduled to be held at Alhamra Art Center in Lahore on the 1st and 2nd of February 2020. They announced their comeback with a new poster that was designed by Lead Designer for the festival, Sana Nasir.
The women-led festival consists of Festival Directors Natasha Noorani and Zahra Paracha with Sana Nasir as Lead Designer and Munizeh Sanai as Creative Director.
As Lahore Music Meet, in its fifth year, unveils its second poster, Instep spoke to Sana Nasir about the inspiration behind 2020 posters. Speaking to Instep, the incredibly talented Sana Nasir noted, “I think the only thing I can say about this year’s artwork is that I wanted to create something I love and can be proud of, the same way I love and am proud of the growing music scene in Pakistan.”
Sana further noted, “I wanted it to be reflective of the craft and attention to detail, the whimsy, the experimentation and deep rooted acknowledgement of our heritage and culture alongside technology and growth and the role it plays in shaping us. Something very much Made in Pakistan.”
Lahore Music Meet has hosted panel discussions, one-on-one sessions, and participation from dozens of musicians. It has also hosted several artists as performers – both independent and otherwise. Now in its fifth year, here’s hoping #LMM5 lives up to expectations. But considering the artwork, we’re already sold.
