Some of the most anticipated films of the year, shifted to next year, as well as new announcements included, it looks like 2020 will be a bigger year for cinema than 2019.

For one thing, while there are some reports that suggest that The Legend of Maula Jatt is releasing on December 25, other reports note it has been shifted to early next year.

According to Entertainment Pakistan, 2020 will be the year Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan will star in a solo film together but that could be conjecture at this time.

Mahira Khan will, however, share screen space with Fahad Mustafa, for the first time in a Nabeel Qureshi film called Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad.

Other major productions include the untitled animated film from the makers of Allahyar and the Legend of Markhor; Ishrat Made in China starring Sanam Saeed and Sara Loren to be directed by Mohib Mirza; Kamli, starring Saba Qamar to be helmed by Sarmad Khoosat; a potential film by Shoaib Mansoor; Money Back Guarantee to be helmed by Faisal Qureshi, and featuring Waseem Akram, Fawad Khan, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Kiran Malik, Gohar Rasheed and Shainera Akram.

Ziindagi Tamasha is also scheduled for early next year. Love Guru to be produced by Humayun Saeed; Jugnu, a film by Jami and London Nahe Jaunga by Humayun Saeed Film are the other major players.

Now some of these productions could get delayed while others may arrive on time. But what’s common to all of them is that should they happen, they will have public and media interest more so than others. Let’s wait and see.
