Allama Iqbal’s birth anniversary: Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Zafar and others pay tribute to Allama Iqbal:

On the occasion of Allama Iqbal’s birth anniversary, an event titled ‘Sitaroon Say Agay’ was hosted by the poet’s maternal grandson,Yousuf Salahuddin, at Hazuri Bagh in Lahore where several prominent artists including actor and singer Ali Zafar, renowned qawwal Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Shafqat Amanat Ali and Hadiqa Kiyani paid tribute to the Poet of East. Many celebrities and eminent personalities including Justice (r) Nasira Javed Iqbal, Walled City Authority Chairman, Mr. Kamran Lashari and others were spotted at the occasion.

At the event, music maestro Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Shafqat Amanat Ali and Hadiqa Kiyani among others recited Kalam-e-Iqbal while Ali Zafar took the stage along with a group of school children and performed the beautiful, melodic rendition of ‘Lab Pay Aati Hai Dua’ also known as ‘Bachche Ki Dua’.

The singer-songwriter also shared the Dua on his official Twitter handle and wrote, “My humble rendition of Allama’s ‘Lab Pe Aati Hai Hai Dua’. We all know this from school but I feel that truly understanding the wisdom in its simplicity is the key to freedom in so many ways.”

He also posted the video on Instagram and captioned it, “If we only understand this simple prayer by the great Allama Iqbal, our lives would transform. Hope this brings peace to all.”
