Actor and director Shamoon Abbasi, whose directorial venture Durj released last month across Pakistan and is still running in select cinemas, is all geared up for his next feature film, titled Dhai Chaal.
Directed by Taimoor Sherazi, the film is written by Faiza Choudhry while it is produced by Dr. Irfan Ashraf. According to the press statement, “Dhai Chaal is a story about Balochistan and the struggles faced by its local population to keep peace and harmony.”
In a bid to know more about the upcoming film, Instep got in touch with Shamoon Abbasi, who’s currently shooting for Dhai Chaal. “I’m playing the part of Kulbhushan Jadhav, the RAW agent from India, who was arrested by Pakistani authorities in March, 2016,” shared Abbasi.
Talking about the plot of the film, he said, “It is based on the time when Jadhav was active in the region of Balochistan and was appointed to sabotage the billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.”
Besides Shamoon Abbasi, Dhai Chaal features Ayesha Omar, who will essay the role of a journalist trying to highlight what’s actually happening in the region. The cast also includes Rasheed Naz, Adnan Shah Tipu, Saleem Mairaj and Humayun Ashraf. The film is scheduled to release next year.
