Saqib Malik’s directorial debut Baaji marked Meera Jee’s return on the big screen and released on June 28, 2019. Since then, the film has made it to the DC South Asian Film Festival in the United States and the Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival in Canada, where it won the Grand Jury Prize as well as received honour for Best Supporting Actor.
According to latest reports, the film is all set to screen at the upcoming Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival (VISAFF) 2019 that is scheduled to take place from November 14 - 17.

After screening as part of the Official Selection at the Mosaic International South Asian Festival (Misaff) in Canada and then being screened at the DC South Asian Film Festival in the US, Baaji will now be seen at The Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival (Visaff)! Friends, fans and family in the Vancouver area, be sure to catch Baaji on Saturday November 16!” Saqib Malik shared on his Instagram handle.
Produced and directed by Saqib Malik, Baaji received critical and commercial acclaim post its release in Pakistan. Aside from Meera Jee, the film stars Ali Kazmi, Amna Ilyas, Osman Khalid Butt, Mohsin Abbas Haider, Nayyar Ejaz and Nisho Begum.
