One of Pakistan’s most bankable actresses Mehwish Hayat, who last appeared in Wajahat Rauf’s Chhalawa, alongside Azfar Rehman, is gearing up for her upcoming film, titled London Nahin Jaunga.

Directed by Nadeem Baig of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani fame, Mehwish will star opposite Humayun Saeed, who is generating rave reviews for his character Danish in the ongoing drama serial Meray Paas Tum Ho. This is the duo’s third movie together.

In a recent interview, Baig revealed that he is working on two films including London Nahin Jaunga, penned by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar and another yet to be titled film, which is written by Vasay Chaudhry. Meanwhile, Mehwish Hayat in an interview with BBC Urdu spoke about the biopic based on Pakistan’s only female Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and confirmed that she would be essaying the role of Benazir Bhutto. “It’s going to take some time to be written right now, but I can’t wait to play [Benazir Bhutto]. I’ve been reading up about her and the more I read, the more I get inspired... The world needs to see her story,” she said.

However, in a recent turn of events, Bakhtawar Bhutto responded to Mehwish Hayat’s announcement and said that “she knows we haven’t consented”. Bakhtawar added, “I threatened her with legal action 2 years ago on Twitter, now again she’s brought up this film. Regardless of location we will seek legal action.”
