Since coming back from Canada and moving back home, Zeeshan Parwez hasn’t skipped a beat before jumping back into work. He directed the animated music videos, ‘Kon Hai Woh’ and ‘Paani’ for Islamabad-based music group RockLite and is the video producer for Coke Studio 12 with Kamal Khan of Laal Kabootar fame, also serving as director. The music-TV show, back under Rohail Hyatt’s vision, is set to unveil its trailer on Friday (October 4).
While Zeeshan Parwez will continue his direction projects – more on that later – as for the musician in him, well he is set for a return as well. The project that put Zeeshan on the map in a significant manner many moons ago, the duo Sajid-Zeeshan, confirmed Zeeshan, will be returning after making two fantastic records The Harvest, 2011 and One Light Year at Snail Speed, 2006.
The Peshawar-based duo, back in the day, had several hits to its credits such as ‘King of Self’, ‘My Happiness’, ‘Have to Let Go Sometime’, ‘Freestyle Dive’, ‘Start with a Scratch’, and ‘Walk On Air’ and even appeared on the first season of Coke Studio as artists and fetched Lux Style Award nominations. Equally known for their narrative-based or graphic-friendly or glitch-based music videos, the duo had to separate ways when Zeeshan Parwez moved to Canada but now that he is back, the duo will release a comeback track with a music video, confirmed Zeeshan and he will also be releasing his debut solo album. Amen to that!
