Celebrities praise PM Imran Khan’s UNGA speech

Prime Minister Imran Khan, recently addressed the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) at United Nation’s headquarters in New York, U.S.

During his speech, he touched upon several important issues such as calling on the UN to act on the ongoing lockdown of Kashmir – reminding the world that India’s actions could lead to a bloodbath – and asking world leaders to end Islamophobia among other things.

After his powerful and passionate speech, celebrities including Mahira Khan, Mehwish Hayat, Humayun Saeed, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Sanam Saeed and several others praised the Prime Minister for his confident stance.

“Prime Minister Imran Khan packs a powerful punch with his eloquent speech and tremendous passion,” tweeted HumayunSaeed. “As a truly dynamic leader, he gets the message across loud and clear. So proud of him!” he added.

Besides Humayun Saeed, actress Mehwish Hayat wrote that the PM’s address was awe-inspiring. “So glad that we have a leader who so eloquently put our case to the world. The UN has to take heed and end the oppression in Kashmir. Remember the Pakistani nation are like cornered tigers; don’t provoke us!” read her Twitter post.

Moreover, UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Mahira Khan, who’s recently in France for Paris Fashion Week, took to Twitter and wrote, “Finally got to watch the speech, Imran Khan. You make us proud!”

While actor and host Faysal Qureshi expressed that no one has ever represented – not only Pakistan – but 1.3 billion Muslims the way PM Khan did during his speech at UNGA 2019, Sanam Saeed tweeted, “This is the stuff leaders are made of. A heartfelt, sensitive, well-backed and impassioned plea for human rights and awareness by our PM Imran Khan to the United Nations General Assembly.”

Tweeting about the PM Khan’s speech, actor and host Hamza Ali Abbasi shared that he is thankful to Allah for blessing the Pakistani nation with PM Imran Khan. “Today he proved that he is not just a leader of Pakistan and Kashmir but a leader for all Muslims and one of the biggest voices of Humanity and Islam,” he added.

Apart from these celebs, Laal Kabootar actress, Mansha Pasha, singer and actor Farhan Saeed and HaroonShahid also lauded the Prime Minister for his liberating speech at UNGA.
