Pakistani singer Nabeel Shaukat Ali, who won Indian musical reality television show Sur Kshetra in 2012, has made quite a remarkable journey since then.
The Lahore-based singer has been quietly making his mark in the local music industry. He is known for his soulful voice and his recent offerings such as Geo Entertainment drama’s “Yarrian” original sound track, “Ja Tujhe Maaf Kiya” and “Aye Zindagi” have been massive hits.
The singer, who is currently in the United Kingdom for his projects, said:” I am delighted that fans love my songs. Some of my tracks have been viewed more than 50 million times on YouTube, and as a young artist I cannot thank my fans enough for their love.”
He said: “Singing is a God gifted talent but practice can make it even more perfect. I practice every day, focusing and training can some time bring amazing ideas. My track Bewajah is an example which I created while practicing.”
He added: “Music is beyond borders and barriers. You can connect to people through the language of music as it is universal and doesn’t need words. There is no narrative that a singer has to follow, but each of the song a music producer or singer produces relates to a specific milestone, crazy moments, desperate moments, wonderful moments, and the moments that were just fun. They all relate to the journey of music and dreams.”
Ali continued: “People know me for drama OSTs but I don’t want to be known for one genre; no doubt OST has given me identity but I have sung for films and produced albums, which is completely different to OST music.
I want to discover and explore other genres and my new projects will surprise you for sure. I have fans who listen to everything from Pop to Qawwali and I wish to cater to everyone.”
Speaking of his favourite tracks, he said: “My favourites are surely “Yarrian” and “Ja Tujhe Maaf Kiya”. These tracks have given me world recognition and they are very close to my heart.”
Ali is all set to perform early next year in different cities of UK.
