Junaid Khan, who is presently starring in drama serial Yaarian featuring actors Ayeza Khan, Momal Sheikh and Muneeb Butt in key roles, received rave reviews for his portrayal of an antagonist in the recently concluded TV production, Hania. He is now all set for his debut film, titled Kahey Dil Jidhar opposite Mansha Pasha - who last appeared on the big screen in Kamal Khan’s Laal Kabootar.
“The film is directed by Jalal Rumi, and written by Ali Moein,” Junaid told Instep. “We have already started shooting for the project, which will most probably be complete by October.”
Talking about his character in the film, Junaid said, “I am playing the role of Sheheryar, who is a police officer. I cannot reveal too much at this point, but what I can tell you is that Kahey Dil Jidhar revolves around friendship.”
Junaid Khan also went on to say that the film will also feature Mansha Pasha, who can be seen in the ongoing serial Surkh Chandni.
Apart from his upcoming film, the singer-actor is also geared up for a family drama called Makafaat. The drama stars Hira Mani, Atiqa Odho, Ali Ansari and Marium Nafees in key roles and is scheduled to air on Geo Entertainment in the coming days.
Junaid Khan, as we know, started his career as lead singer of music group Call who – along with his band – escalated from the underground to mainstream with songs like ‘Nishaan’ more than a decade ago. Since then he has traversed to television and acting. He has even garnered Lux Style Awards nomination for his acting chops and has made cameos in films like Bin Roye.
