Having generated appreciation for brilliantly portraying Aaliya in Mohammed Ehteshamuddin’s period drama Aangan, Mawra Hocane is gearing up for her next TV serial this year. Her upcoming drama, titled Daasi will feature her opposite Adeel Husain, who will be making his TV comeback after almost five years.
Teasers of the drama serial, that is scheduled to go on air next month, recently came out and hint at an intense romantic track between the two. A love story at heart, Daasi will feature Mawra as Sonehri and Adeel as her love interest Aahil Salahuddin. Sonehri is a cheerful and vibrant young woman who thinks too highly of herself, according to one of the teasers that also feature Faryal Mehmood. While we aren’t sure what role she is playing, it looks like she is Mawra’s sister or a close friend.
Aahil, on the other hand, loses a loved one in the drama, perhaps, as we see a funeral in the teaser where he is recalling that Sonehri wanted him to become so successful that the entire world is envious of him.
The writer and director behind the project as well as the on-air date is yet to be revealed but right now we are just looking forward to seeing Mawra and Adeel on the small screen together for the first time.
