Actor-director Usman Mukhtar is currently winning hearts as the intense and brooding Altamash in ongoing drama serial Anaa, in which he has made his television debut. The actor is also known for his roles in Janaan (2016) and Parchi (2018) and for essaying the role of Prime Minister Imran Khan during the recently concluded Islamabad run of Anwar Maqsood and Dawar Mehmood’s theatre play, Naach Na Jaanay.

Usman – who is often compared to Fawad Khan in appearance – is now gearing up for his second TV play that will also feature Sarah Khan. According to the actor, the two will star as Miraal and Haris in the play that is being directed by Shahzad Kashmiri, who has also directed Anaa.

“The play is called Sabaat and we recently started shooting for it,” Usman told Instep, refraining from revealing much at the moment as he is under a contract. However, he did share that Haris is a very interesting character and is a little different from Altamash.

The Islamabad-based actor has been gaining popularity in Anaa; many people feel he has more impact than the play’s actual protagonist, Shehzad Sheikh (who plays Areesh). We’re curious to see how diverse his range as an actor is and how well he performs in his next.
