Mohammad Ehteshamuddin’s big screen directorial debut Superstar that features Mahira Khan and Bilal Ashraf in lead roles is all set to release in cinemas across Pakistan and beyond this Eid ul Azha. Bilal who made his film debut with Janaan in 2016, followed by Rangreza in 2017, is returning to the silver screen in a never seen before avatar.
The actor has apparently taken some acting training from NAPA while he has also worked on his body transformation for the role of a star. And the recently released song ‘Dharak Bharak’ is testament to that. He gives off Ranveer Singh vibes and refreshes one’s memory of the latter in ‘Tattad Tattad’ from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ramleela.
Bilal is shirtless in the song and reminds one of Ranveer Singh with his moves, while the song holds strong resemblance to ‘Malhari’ from the same film. With vocals by Shiraz Uppal and Raktima Mukherjee, the song features Kubra Khan opposite Bilal as the two shoot for a song within the film.
Aside from Mahira and Bilal, the film features an ensemble cast including Nadeem Baig, Marina Khan Saife Hassan, Asma Abbas, Jawed Sheikh, Ali Kazmi, Waqar Hussain and Alizay Shah while Syra Shahroz, Kubra Khan and Hania Amir will have guest appearances in the film.
