Usually the Eid season ushers in a number of movie releases and this Eid-ul-Azha we were looking forward to four films – Superstar, Parey Hut Love, Heer Maan Ja and Kaaf Kangana – to hit cinemas.
However, recent reports suggest that Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar’s directorial debut Kaaf Kangana will no longer release on Eid.
While actor Humayun Saeed recently took to social media to announce that Kaaf Kangana will now release on October 25, 2019, Instep got in touch with the director, Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar, to know the main reason behind the delay.
“Being my first film, I wanted Kaaf Kangana to simultaneously release internationally and locally. But due to some reasons this wasn’t possible and I’m not willing to release my debut film in Pakistan only,” Khalil Ur Rehman told Instep exclusively.
The writer-director, who is known for penning blockbuster film Punjab Nahi Jaungi, also added that this is the sole reason of delaying the release of my film and that now Kaaf Kangana will release on October 25.
According to Khalil Ur Rehman, his directorial debut is an “intense love story that is connected to the unfortunate past.” The trailer of the upcoming period film came out last month and is about cross-border love. It features Sami Khan, Eeshal Fayyaz and Ayesha Omar in key roles. Apart from the lead characters, the film stars Sajid Hassan, Shafqat Cheema and Fiza Ali among others.
