After directing critically acclaimed productions Qusoorwar, Court Martial, Equus and Chup, thespian Sunil Shanker is gearing for his next theatre play, Dead End. An adaptation of David Mamet’s masterpiece Glengarry Glen Ross, Dead End is part of the upcoming Jashn Sahwan Ka festival that is scheduled to commence tomorrow.
Dead End is an intense drama, scalding comedy, and mystery/thriller that revolves around real estate agents who are trying to survive in a brutal and competitive market. The 70-minute-long roller coaster promises to be engaging as the various characters fight for their lives. The first act is set in a Chinese restaurant while the second act comprises a single scene set in an office premises.
The play features a slew of talented actors, both young and experienced, including Ali Junejo, Saad Zameen Fareedi, Samhan Ghazi, Ejaz ul Haq, Aamir Naqvi and Usman Javed in key roles. It will be performed from July 25 till July 28 at NAPA during the festival that will run over four weekends.
