Finally making their relationship official, Yasir went down on a knee at the recently held Lux Style Awards and proposed to Iqra, who said, “yes!”. News of Yasir’s proposal went viral, with pictures and videos of the moment circulating on social media, generating all sorts of criticism. Many people are unhappy with this open display of love and affection at the Lux platform in front of seniors from the industry.
Amidst all the hoopla Hamza Ali Abbasi has come forward and showed support for the two artists.
“In an era when people prefer haraam over halal, how can you find faults in a man asking a woman for nikkah? Because he hugged her or kissed her on the cheek? STOP IT! Instead celebrate the good... Heartiest congrats to Yasir and Iqra. May Allah bless you both in your new journey.” Hamza tweeted in the newly engaged couples’ support and posted some hadiths reflecting that it is not right to find faults in others.
The actor met criticism after the tweet, reminding him of his opposition against item numbers. Responding to these comments, Hamza posted, “The closer I am getting to Islam, the more I am finding out that Allah does not like you to pick out names and individuals and bash them on their personal faults. Look away from their personal faults and celebrate the good that they do. That’s what Allah loves. Rest is up to you.”
