After playing Feroze Khan’s mother in two consecutive plays – Khaani and Romeo Weds Heer – that portrayed her in contrasting roles, Saman Ansari is gearing up for another interesting character with a unique look, yet again. The actress will be essaying a modern, single woman in an upcoming Eid telefilm for which she is presently shooting in Karachi.

“I am playing a confident and elegant single mother, who is an advertising agency client manager,” she told Instep exclusively, adding that she will be seen as a mother of the male lead, essayed by Affan Waheed.

“While most Eid telefilms are comic, this one isn’t slapstick,” she informed. “It has underlying humour to it but it’s not in your face crazy, we-are-trying-to-be-funny.”

As far as the plot goes, Saman shared that since she works in an advertising agency, her job requires her to travel and, being a single mother, she worries about her son whenever she is away. She plans to get her son married and starts looking for a girl. This is where the role of the female lead, essayed by Yumna Zaidi, comes into play. However, like all love stories, there is a twist in this one too. Let’s wait and watch how the story unfolds once the untitled telefilm goes on air on Eid.
