A number of Pakistani films, including Teefa in Trouble, Chupan Chupai, Pinky Memsaab and Allahyar and the Legend of Markhor have been digitally accessible on the streaming website, Netflix.
We reported earlier that Cake, which has received five nominations at the upcoming Lux Style Awards 2019 and was also Pakistan’s contender for the Oscars foreign-language category, was coming to Netflix. Well, the wait is finally over and the film that released in March across Pakistan and beyond last year is now available on the streaming website.
Recently, Adnan Malik, who essays the character of Romeo in Cake, took to social media to announce the news. “And boom! Pakistan’s submission to the Oscars and last year’s most critically acclaimed film Cake is available on #Netflix around the globe. Give it a watch!” Adnan Malik tweeted.
Besides Asim Abbasi’s Cake that stars Aamina Sheikh, Sanam Saeed and Adnan Malik in pivotal roles, another film – Mahira Khan and Sheheryar Munawar starrer-7 Din Mohabbat In has made it to Netflix as well.
Actor Sheheryar Munawar also took to social media to share the news. “Streaming now. 7 Din Mohabbat In is now on Netflix,” he wrote.
Helmed by Meenu Gaur and Farjad Nabi, the romance-fantasy features Jawed Sheikh, Hina Dilpazeer, Amna Ilyas and Mira Sethi besides Mahira and Sheheryar. It follows the story of Tipu (essayed by Sheheryar Munawar), who is on a quest to find a girl who will fall in love with him after he is given just seven days by a genie.
