Complaint

Dear Ed,

Since past two weeks, I have not been getting Us magazine along with The News. As a result, I had to borrow it from my friend, which was not very easy, as he lives quite a distance away from my house. Kindly notify the concerned department so I can start getting Us with the newspaper again.

‘Hackschool Project’ by Iqra Asad is my favourite in Us, and I wait its episodes eagerly. Ed, please make it bi-monthly; to wait one month for the next instalment is a bit too much!

In the issue of April 29, I loved the quiz on Shakespeare; it was very interesting and I am pleased to tell you that I only got one answer wrong. Keep up the good work!

Hey Ed,

‘The chosen one’ by SZ caught my fancy as I love swimming. Kiran is lucky because she has supportive parents who let her follow her dream. As for me, I was a good swimmer and used to compete in swimming competitions till I was in grade 5. After that, my parents didn’t let me compete in any tournament. I can only go to swim at a club where they have separate timings for girls and guys. Kiran’s interview was very inspiring and I wish her success in every tournament she enters.

Dear Editor,

I found ‘Art with impact’ by Hamza Hasan thought provoking. I think theatre is still underestimated in our country, and its power has not been harnessed so far because culturally we have always looked down on theatre artists. Many of my friends think that theatre means cheap dances on rowdy songs. I hope the perception is changed soon and I have a feeling that with the infusion of young blood theatre will thrive. Allah’s Apostle (S.A.W) said thrice, “Shall I not inform you of the biggest of the great sins?” We said, “Yes, O Allah’s Apostle.” He said, “To join partners in worship with Allah: to be undutiful to one’s parents.” The Prophet sat up after he had been reclining and added, “And I warn you against giving forged statement and a false witness; I warn you against giving a forged statement and a false witness.” The Prophet kept on saying that warning till we thought that he would not stop.
