Instep looks at six models who have brought new energy to the fashion industry…

As the plethora of fashion events of the season come to a close, it has given us various reasons to celebrate the business of fashion in 2019. Be it the fashion councils proving their prowess with strong displays or the couturiers who were able to bring their A-game to the runway this year through various facets, the spring/summer season has surely been one to be proud of. However, one thing, which has been even bigger than any of this, has to be the rise of those who the ensemble looks visibly perfect on – the models.

Bringing a trove of budding faces to the runway this year, the fashion industry has added major feathers to their cap with those who not only glimmer on the runway, but also add the much-needed oomph with their walk.

Exploring six such names, Instep looks at those who made us look forward to the runway with their presence…

Fahmeen Ansari

Although she isn’t the newest name in the industry and has been a part of various shows in the last two years or so, 2019 is definitely the year Fahmeen is shining the most. Be it FPW, PSFW or the solo shows she’s been a part of, it’s Ansari’s fierce expressions and walk on the runway, which make her a delight to witness. Plus, with a Model of the Year (Female) nomination at this year’s Lux Style Awards to her name, it only makes sense to see more of her on the runway.

Champ Imi

Dazzling on the runway with his attitude and powerful walk, Champ Imi has been a renowned name in the industry in the last few years now. However, it’s his constant rise to fame and his strong repertoire that makes him one model to look out for – and how. Nominated for Model of the Year (Male) at the LSAs, Champ, whose former campaigns include names like Tom Ford, is surely a name to watch out for.

Mushk Kaleem

One of the newest models to grace the runways of in Pakistan, Mushk Kaleem has quickly and rather swiftly become one of the couturiers’ choice of models to go for. From her powerful expressions on the runway to her ability to carry both traditional and contemporary looks, this Best Emerging Talent in Fashion nominee at the LSAs is one we expect to become a big name soon.

Munsif Ali Khan

Clocking in a year or so in the industry, Munsif Ali Khan has made his name on the runway with his presence. Albeit, the model still is seemingly working on his walk and fixing the chinks in his armour, he has the potential to make it big with his expressions and ability to carry eccentric ensembles without looking awkward. Add onto it his LSA nomination for Best Emerging Talent in Fashion, one can be sure Munsif is a name that has definite chance to give others a tough time.

Alicia Khan

Despite being a new face in the industry, Alicia Khan has received much praise for not just her walk but the amount the model has put into perfecting her walk and attitude on the runway and off of it. Quickly becoming a part of the A-list of models in the country, Alicia’s collaboration with L’Oreal has only made her a bigger name and one which can definitely go high up the success charts with her presence.

Walid Siddiqui

Making the runways of Pakistan light up with his energy and smiley looks on the runway, Pakistani-American Walid Siddiqui has made a big splash in the pool of Pakistani models with his entry.
